If you know me in real life, you know that I have been an “artist” since I could hold a crayon, and a “commissioned artist” for a decade. If you don’t know me…that’s awkward, and I should probably introduce myself.
My name is Elizabeth Rector and I am a Renaissance (wo)man of sorts. I am an artist (watercolor, ink, acrylic, oil, digital, wood-burning, sculpture and Prismacolor). I am a writer who founded my high school newspaper, was a staff member (and the head cartoonist) of my college newspaper, The Skiff (TCU), and I wrote for The Castle Pines Connection.
Writing and art are my two greatest passions and I’ve been prompted to choose between them my entire life.
Do I have too many passions? Possibly.
I design logos, tutor students and prepare them for the SAT, edit essays, paint pet portraits and other commissions, create inventions and work to patent them, cook/bake, entertain my dog, hang with family, volunteer in the community and enjoy all that Colorado has to offer.
Welcome to my website. Welcome to my life. Controlled Chaos.
“A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.” – Abraham Maslo
