As a commissioned artist, I have done plenty of pet portraits. Each animal is unique and I’ve done everything from parrots to horses and every creature in between. The style of the portrait depends on the client, their budget, what medium they prefer. and the overall spirit of the animal.

Tip: Many people who have black furred pets don’t believe that their pet can turn out well in a painting. Not true! It’s all about finding where the light hits the fur and focusing on highlights rather than shadows.
